Service FAQs

What is Good Shepherd Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers (GSIVC)?

GSIVC is a 501(c)3 non-profit charity that exists to help families remain living independently in their homes for as long as they choose. Examples of services include transportation, small fix-it request, well calls and visits, and medical equipment lending.

Mission Statement

How many days per week can I use the services of GSIVC?

We ask that you give us one request per week so that others will have an opportunity to receive service. We do our best to accommodate your service needs but our success is directly related to the volunteers who accept your request.

How far will a GSIVC Driver take me for an appointment?

Every situation is different. Speak to us and explain your situation and we will do our best to match a resource to your need.

Do I decide which rides I will provide and which requests I can complete?

You decide which rides you are willing to provide but there are times when a staff may call on you to see if you are willing to accept an unmatched request. You decide which days, times and service requests match your abilities and schedule. You also decide where you are willing to drive. We will work with you!

How do I enroll to become a GSIVC driver?

You have made our day if you have decided to become one of our GSIVC volunteers. Thank you for your desire to make a stronger community by volunteering with us. Please dial 304-876-3325 and let us know that you are answering the call to become a volunteer.
